JONAH is an organization uniting congregations to build a better community.  In our increasingly fragmented society, we join hands with others to bring effective change rather than isolated self interest.

JONAH unifies people of faith to raise a powerful voice in our local communities, our region, and beyond.

JONAH members believe that it is an authentic expression of faith to stand up for the poor, the sick and the marginalized.

Most of our local congregations express their faith through acts of charity. They do their best to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, and offer help to those in need. They pull drowning individuals out of the water, they’re drowning in, dry them off, and send them on their way with new hope.

At JONAH, we’ve joined our congregations together to discover who it is that is throwing those people in the water to begin with. We seek to find the root of the ordinary problems with which people struggle. the people we’ve been helping deal with.

Different from organizations built around single issues, JONAH is organized around common values. Our faith values create a network for people of diverse backgrounds to act powerfully in the world.

JONAH is part of a powerful statewide organization, WISDOM, a member of the Gamaliel Foundation. JONAH is linked with other congregation based organizations throughout Wisconsin; from Milwaukee to Lacrosse.

JONAH (like all WISDOM organizations) is a 501(c)3 organization. (Donations to JONAH are tax exempt.) JONAH does NOT endorse candidates or get involved in partisan politics. We have members from all political parties, and we believe in the need to hold public officials accountable, no matter what party they represent.
